Prescription for a Great Life

The MadLab Prescription for a Great Life was designed so our clients and coaches can be their best selves—meaning they can live great lives. Living a great life means you’re generally physically prepared for anything life might throw your way. Achieving this general physical preparedness (GPP) doesn’t just happen on its own: It’s something you need to train for. This is where our prescription comes in: We suggest you train and perform functional movements three to four times a week, and follow a healthy nutrition plan—consisting mostly of whole, unprocessed foods—to optimize your health.

As a client, you’ll receive constant help and feedback from one of our professional fitness coaches, who will become your coach for life. Your personal coach—who will help you attack your physical and mental limitations, and will work with you to improve your strength, skills, endurance and mobility and to reach your goals. As well as working with your coach in a one-on-one environment, you will also attend group classes where you’ll sweat it out and socialize with friends. Training with us means you’ll be surrounded by like-minded individuals—a supportive network of friends, and a great social community in which to raise a family.

Our prescription for a great life also means we want you being active outside the gym. We encourage you to try new sports, participate in other forms of physical activity—ideally in nature—be it rock climbing, hiking, skiing, golfing or surfing, and to embark on new adventures as often as possible. In short, longevity is what we’re after. We want you to be the star of your late-night sports league at 40. We don’t want you to have to hesitate and question your abilities before going on an 4-hour hike with your grandchildren at 65. And at 85, we want you living independently, doing housework and going for walks, maybe even runs.

Our "Code For Fitness"

Our "Code for Fitness" is: Functional Movements, Accessory work to develop Stability/Mobility, Skill Development, Varied movements, intensity and energy pathways and to gamify fitness.

Why You Need the "Code For Fitness"

To live a great life you need the Code for Fitness. We want you to be able to participate in life fully and be doing the activities and sports you love as you age. The Code for Fitness helps you to be prepared for things that life throws at you every day - running for the bus or carrying 8 heavy grocery bags for example. The Code encourages you to try new things and keep you active by playing sports, going on adventures, and being in nature. The Code for Fitness will enhance your physical fitness and energy. It was developed around longevity and quality of life: we want you to be the best you can be.
