I’m here to help make positive change in the lives of my clients, members and friends.

For upwards of 30 years, I’ve been dedicated to my own training practice and learning and implementing new techniques and strategies along the way.

I thrive on working with motivated people who understand the importance of creating lasting change, so that they can improve their overall wellbeing for life, not just for the summer season.

As a young teen, my family and I ski-raced. Participating in a sport with my family was special, even though I didn’t know it at the time, it wasn’t something a lot of my friends experienced. And to this day, my family and I still enjoy ski trips together.  

My involvement in dryland training for ski-racing made me stronger and fitter than the other kids, which enabled me to perform better, and more consistently than the rest.

When I started playing rugby at 16, I had a noticeable advantage over the others as I’d been training consistently for 4 years and could push myself beyond their capabilities.

My dedication to sport, strength and fitness led me to play rugby for Canada and professionally overseas.

After sustaining an injury in the professional rugby world, I entered into the regular workforce, but kept getting questions from my co-workers on how to train, what to eat, and how to be generally healthy.

This was natural for me, as I’d always been dedicated to my fit lifestyle so when I moved to Vernon, I joined Crossfit as a member.

The tight-knit community at that gym was pivotal in feeling at home in a new city and made me realize I’d been missing the team atmosphere I’d always gotten from rugby.

I would soon figure out that I had a knack for coaching and helping people, and this quickly became my passion.  I wasn’t exactly employed at the time so succeeding as a coach was very important!

I’ve always lived my life with the notion that the gym is something you “get” to do, not a chore.

And this is what I help my clients realize.

I love helping people transition to a healthy lifestyle while maintaining an active social life - and I’m proud to say this is what Forge Valley Fitness is all about.

Opening the doors to my own gym, Forge Valley Fitness in 2012, I’ve never looked back.

I really enjoy coaching my morning classes and members and setting them up for a great day after getting their gym done first thing!
